Here’s what makes Lugnut4x4 special:

  • The best quality kits. Every part in our converison kits is quality:
    • We use steel banjo bolts, because regular bolts rust.
    • We use grade 8 zinc coated hardware for maximum rust resistance
    • We use brand name brake pads instead of cheap imported pads.
  • The most options. Most of our kits have three different calipers to choose from, clockable brackets, different pad options, and slotted rotors are available for most kits too.
  • The best pricing. Our basic disc brake conversion kits start at $315, including priority shipping on US orders.

Finally – and most importantly – no one can beat our service. Lugnut4x4 is a small, family business, and questions that aren’t answered in our FAQs are answered by Shawn Miller, the owner and founder. But don’t take our word for it – see what our customers have to say about us on our Reviews page.

How Lugnut4x4 Got Started

Shawn Miller About 2003 I started getting into 4-wheeling. I had a ’78 Bronco I was building. I upgraded the axles to a Dana 70 rear and 8 lug Dana 44 front. I also did every other brake upgrade I could find on the internet including a different master cylinder and booster. I never was happy with the brakes. I could adjust the rear brakes and it would be OK for a while, but not for long. I felt like I had to push the pedal through the floor to get it to stop when on the trails. Finally, I ordered a disc brake kit for the rear and all my brake problems went away. I paid way more for that conversion than I thought I should but I felt stuck. So I started putting together my own to provide the best disc brake conversion kits for 8-lug axles at the lowest prices online.

FAQs About 3/4-Ton and 1-Ton Disc Brake Comnversion Kits – Lugnut4x4

1. What truck models are compatible with Lugnut4x4’s disc brake conversion kits for ¾-ton and 1-ton trucks?

Our disc brake conversion kits for ¾-ton and 1-ton trucks cover many popular 8-lug axle applications (for example, ¾-ton/1-ton GM, Ford and Dodge trucks with Dana 60 or 14-bolt rear axles). We design our kits to fit these heavy-duty trucks and offer both front upgrade kits and rear conversion kits.

2. What’s included in a typical disc brake conversion kit from Lugnut4x4?

Each kit includes calipers (with optional choices), rotors (often slotted or standard), brackets or mounting hardware (steel banjo bolts, grade-8 zinc coated hardware), and brand-name brake pads. We emphasize quality and rust resistance in every component.

3. How difficult is it to install the conversion kit, and does Lugnut4x4 provide support?

Installation is straightforward for mechanically-savvy DIYers or shops familiar with heavy-duty truck brakes. We provide detailed instructions and our founder is available for direct support on any questions or fitment issues.

4. Why upgrade to a disc brake conversion kit on a ¾-ton or 1-ton truck?

Upgrading to disc brakes enhances stopping power, reliability under heavy loads or towing, and easier maintenance compared to drum brakes. Especially for ¾-ton and 1-ton trucks used off-road or for heavy duty, a quality disc conversion kit boosts safety and performance.

We offer free USPS Priority Mail shipping on U.S. orders and most kits ship within one business day. As a family-owned business, we back our kits with high quality standards and responsive customer service. Please see our Warranty and Returns pages for full details.
